The Sapphire and Diamond Dilemma in Rose Gold.
Charlie came to me in a bit of a bind. She had been looking around for engagement ring designs that she liked and couldn't decide between two core concepts.
She loved the marquise sapphires in the band of one style, but also adored the milligrain finish and scrollwork with diamonds in another vintage style.
After some discussion we firmed up the non-negotiables:
- Rose Gold
- Vintage Style
- Oval Diamond
I then took a look at the other ideas she had that she liked and came up with what ultimately is the best of a few different worlds, married together quite successfully in one dreamy, old world style ring which is right up Charlie's alley.
The centre stone is a stunning VS2 oval diamond weighing just over half a carat. The side stones consist of cobalt blue ceylon sapphires in a very vintage-feeling marquise cut, with some strategically placed small white diamonds to add a touch of sparkle to the overall theme without going overboard.
This resulted in a very wearable, but also unmistakably vintage feeling engagement ring that would stand the test of time for style and sturdiness. Truly something Charlie can proudly pass down to her family.
